From Protzen (Dammkrug) via Küdow and Wildberg

The cycle route begins at Dammtor in Protzen, a peaceful village
with a long history on the northern edge of the Rhinluch wetlands.
Protzen was first mentioned in official records in 1324.
The place name is of Slavic origin and roughly means “place
where millet grows”.

Protzen’s notable buildings include its historic fieldstone church and
the manor house built around 1753.
The restored manor house is now used as a village meeting place and
houses a museum.

From Dammtor, the route continues through the rural landscape
towards Küdow.

The small village, together with Lüchfeld, forms
the Küdow-Lüchfeld district of the municipality of Temnitztal.

Küdow lies west of Neuruppin and
is characterised by agriculture, fields and
a peaceful village setting.

A special sight in Küdow is
the small historic fieldstone church dating from the Middle Ages.
Its transverse tower, added at a later date, shapes the village skyline.

Traditional agricultural businesses also
remain an important part of the village’s character.

The cycle route then continues to Wildberg.
The village lies on the small River Temnitz and
also belongs to the municipality of Temnitztal.

A clearly visible Slavic ringwork can be seen near the entrance to the village.

In the centre of Wildberg, the village church
with its tall church tower is particularly striking.
The village also has an active community life and
a joint rescue and fire station serving the northern Temnitztal area.

The route is particularly suitable for cyclists who wish to discover small villages, regional history and Brandenburg’s rural landscape away from busy roads.
