From Rheinsberger Tor Station through the Town Centre to the Lakeside Promenade

The cycle route begins at Rheinsberger Tor station and
leads through Neuruppin’s town centre towards the lakeside promenade.

Along the way, cyclists can enjoy an attractive combination of urban history,
green spaces and Lake Neuruppin.

Part of the route passes through a small park and
runs alongside the Kulturkirche Sankt Marien.

The former parish church was built between 1801 and 1806 in the Neoclassical style.
Since 2001, the deconsecrated church building has been used as a cultural church and
event centre for concerts, conferences and
other events.

Further along, the route passes the listed Predigerwitwenhaus
on Fischbänkenstraße.

The building was constructed in 1735 and 1736 and
is one of the few houses
to have survived the great town fire of 1787.

The Predigerwitwenhaus is closely connected with Neuruppin’s history.

The young Karl Friedrich Schinkel lived here with his family for several years.
Theodor Fontane’s mother later lived in the house,
where her son visited her several times.

From the historic town centre,
the route finally continues to the lakeside promenade.

There, views open out across Lake Neuruppin and
the tour comes to a pleasant end directly beside the water.
