Tornowsee in the Ruppiner Schweiz

Tornowsee in the Ruppiner Schweiz

Lake Tornowsee lies amid the appealing landscape of the Ruppiner Schweiz, east of Kunsterspring and south of Binenwalde. Surrounded by beech forests, wetlands and a varied shoreline, it is one of the region’s particularly beautiful lakes.

The lake forms part of a chain of lakes created during the Ice Age. It is connected to Kalksee via the Binenbach and to Zermützelsee via the Rottstielfließ. Hiking trails around Tornowsee lead to several interesting destinations and viewpoints, including Boltenmühle, Zanderblick and Forsthaus Tornow.

For cyclists, Tornowsee is especially well suited as a destination or stopover on tours through the Ruppiner Schweiz. The peaceful landscape of forests and lakes invites you to take a break or make a short detour to the water.
