Wulkow-Nietwerder

The cycle route runs between the Neuruppin districts of Wulkow and
Nietwerder through the rural countryside east of the town.

The tour can be started at either endpoint and
ridden in both directions.

Wulkow lies between Alt Ruppin and Herzberg and
is particularly known today for its equestrian activities.

The historic village, laid out around a central green, was first mentioned in official records in 1280 and
has a long history as a village and country estate.

Nietwerder is located closer to the urban area of Neuruppin and
not far from Lake Ruppin.

The village was probably founded as early as the 13th century and
was first mentioned in 1420 as “villa Nietwerde”.

The connection between the two villages is ideal for cyclists
looking for a quiet route through villages and open countryside.

Families can stop for a break at the lovely children’s playground in Nietwerder
before continuing their journey or starting the return trip.
